Pattaya tourism focuses on providing a diverse travel experience beyond just nightlife

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The private tourism sector in Pattaya is on a mission to change the city’s image from just a nightlife and entertainment hub to a comprehensive travel destination. In a recent workshop attended by representatives from various tourism associations, clubs, and major tour operators, the focus was on repositioning Pattaya as a place suitable for all types of visitors, including families.

Thanet Supasahatsarungsi, President of the Chon Buri Tourism Federation, emphasized the city’s transformation, pointing out its numerous sports facilities, upscale shopping malls, spas, and international restaurants. Despite these offerings, Pattaya is still largely known for its nightlife scene. To combat this perception, the workshop participants discussed new marketing strategies to showcase the city’s diverse tourism offerings.

One key strategy is to highlight the charms of small towns and traditional Thai life in areas surrounding Pattaya. By promoting activities such as visiting temples, beaches, islands, traditional markets, and experiencing Thai cultural attractions, officials hope to encourage visitors to explore beyond the nightlife scene.

The ultimate goal is for travelers to recognize Pattaya as a destination with much more to offer than just its nightlife. Ideas generated from the workshop will be shared with government agencies to further promote the city’s diverse travel experiences. With these efforts, Pattaya aims to attract a wider range of tourists and establish itself as a well-rounded travel destination.
