Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill admits batting concerns ahead of IPL clash

Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill has acknowledged his team’s batting woes, stating that the players are well aware of the recent collapses that have plagued their performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In a pre-match press conference before their upcoming clash against Punjab Kings, Gill expressed his concerns about the team’s recent batting failures, particularly in their last match against Delhi Capitals where they were bowled out for a mere 89 runs.

“Our batting has collapsed more in the last three matches than it has over the last two seasons. Players have realized this and they are working on it. Hopefully, this won’t repeat in the upcoming matches,” Gill said.

The Titans have struggled with their batting form in four out of seven matches, with Gill pointing out that losses against Lucknow and Punjab have been particularly disappointing.

Despite facing the same opposition that caused them trouble earlier in the tournament, Gill emphasized that revenge is not on his mind. Instead, he focused on the need for his team to improve their performance and bounce back from recent setbacks.

As the 24-year-old batter prepares for an away game at his ‘home’ ground, Gill remains hopeful of creating more fond cricketing memories in his state of birth. Reflecting on his past experiences playing at the venue, Gill expressed optimism about adding another memorable moment to his list of achievements in the IPL.
