Pelham is Ranked Among the Top High Schools in the 2024 U.S. News Rankings

Pelham High School in Pelham, NY, has been recognized as one of the top high schools in the country in the recently released 2024 Best High Schools rankings by U.S. News & World Report. Out of nearly 25,000 public high schools reviewed, Pelham High School was ranked at number 81 in New York and 722 in the U.S.

The rankings were based on various factors including college readiness, curriculum breadth, state assessments, underserved student performance, and graduation rates. Other Hudson Valley schools that made it to the top 100 in New York state rankings include Edgemont HS, Bronxville HS, Horace Greeley HS, and Byram Hills HS.

According to LaMont Jones, Ed.D, managing editor of education at U.S. News, the rankings provide valuable information for parents to understand a school’s academic performance and make informed decisions for their children’s education. The top-ranking schools excelled in state assessments, meeting the needs of underserved students, offering a wide range of curriculum options, and achieving high graduation rates.

In addition to the national rankings, U.S. News also published state-level rankings and demographic breakdowns of all ranked schools. The top ten schools in the national rankings included BASIS Peoria (AZ), Signature School (IN), and Tesla STEM HS (WA).
