The New Orleans Pelicans may be looking to shake things up this offseason after a disappointing playoff exit at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder. According to reports, Brandon Ingram is the player most likely to be traded as the team looks to make significant changes.
Ingram, who arrived in New Orleans as part of the Anthony Davis trade in 2019, has emerged as a borderline All-Star and one of the NBA’s better one-on-one scorers. However, his ball-dominant style of play may not be the best fit alongside Zion Williamson, the team’s centerpiece.
Williamson, who just had his best season as a pro, averaging 22.9 points per game, suffered a hamstring injury that kept him out of the first-round series against the Thunder. The Pelicans are in need of a true point guard and floor general, as CJ McCollum has been filling in but is a natural shooting guard.
Ingram, at just 26 years old, could fetch valuable assets on the trade market, especially given his improved passing and scoring abilities. With the Pelicans looking to make changes and improve their roster, trading Ingram could be a move that sets them up for success in the future. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
