Pennsylvania Insurance Business Owner Convicted of Tax Evasion

A federal jury has convicted Brandon Aumiller, owner of Brandon Aumiller & Associates, an insurance sales business in Milroy, Pennsylvania, on charges of tax evasion. Aumiller was found guilty of failing to pay substantial amounts in personal and business taxes over several years.

Evidence presented at trial revealed that Aumiller owed over $107,000 in taxes, including approximately $82,000 in personal income taxes and nearly $25,000 in business employment taxes. Despite acknowledging these liabilities to the IRS, Aumiller failed to settle his debts, actively obstructing collection efforts by hiding assets and submitting false financial information.

The investigation was led by the IRS Criminal Investigation unit, with prosecutors detailing Aumiller’s tactics to evade taxes. Aumiller now faces a potential maximum sentence of five years in prison for each of the two counts of his conviction, with sentencing scheduled for September 4.

Acting Deputy Assistant Attorney General Stuart Goldberg emphasized the government’s commitment to prosecuting tax evasion, underscoring the importance of compliance with tax regulations for small business owners.
