Personal physician finds no evidence of poisoning in Bushra Bibi, reports World News

Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, has been at the center of controversy after allegations surfaced that she was poisoned while incarcerated at the former prime minister’s private residence turned sub-jail. Khan claimed during a court hearing that there had been an attempt to poison Bushra, citing marks on her skin and tongue as evidence.

However, Bushra’s personal physician, Dr. Asim Yousuf, has refuted these claims, stating that there is no evidence of her being poisoned. He mentioned that her health deteriorated after a meal two months ago, leading to a decrease in food consumption due to health issues.

Dr. Yousuf emphasized the importance of conducting medical tests to address Bushra’s health concerns, especially given her age. He also confirmed that Imran Khan’s health is stable, although his appetite has not fully recovered from a recent illness.

Bushra Bibi herself alleged that three drops of toilet cleaner were mixed into her food, causing swelling in her eyes and pain in her chest and stomach. She refused to disclose the name of the official who allegedly informed her about the contamination.

In January, both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were sentenced to 14 years in jail in the Toshakhana corruption case involving the illegal sale of state gifts. Despite Bushra’s conviction, Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, maintained that she had no connection to the case and her sentencing was an attempt to pressure the former prime minister further.
