Peyton Manning, the legendary NFL quarterback, was honored for his community work at a banquet in Denver on Wednesday night. Manning, who has been actively involved in philanthropic endeavors through his Peyback Foundation, received the 2024 Community Enrichment Award from the Mizel Institute.
During a press conference ahead of the event, Manning was asked about his future plans and whether he had any desire to run an NFL franchise. Surprisingly, Manning expressed his preference for sticking to his “Monday Night Football” Manningcast with his brother Eli, which recently won its second Sports Emmy award.
Manning highlighted the joy he finds in doing the show with his brother, as it allows them to be home on the weekends and be actively involved in their kids’ lives. Manning and his wife have 13-year-old twins, Marshall and Mosley, and he mentioned how important it is for him to be present at his daughter’s volleyball games and still be able to call Monday Night Football games.
Despite speculation about a potential role in running an NFL franchise, Manning reiterated that it is not on his radar. Instead, he emphasized his role as an ambassador for the teams he played for, including the Denver Broncos, the Indianapolis Colts, and the University of Tennessee.
As Manning continues to make a positive impact in his community and in the world of sports broadcasting, fans can look forward to more entertaining moments on the Manningcast with the addition of Bill Belichick for the upcoming season.
