PGA Celebrates New Members at Graduation Ceremony

The University campus was buzzing with excitement as graduates, family, friends, and staff gathered in the historic Great Hall for the annual PGA graduation ceremony. This event marked a significant milestone for the new cohort of PGA members, as they officially joined the prestigious association.

Paul Wiseman, PGA Executive Director – Education, emphasized the importance of this day, stating that it signifies the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship with The PGA for the graduates. He expressed his pride in the diverse group of trainees who have completed the rigorous PGA Training Programme, highlighting the collaboration and dedication that went into their success.

One standout graduate, Josh Rowles, who transitioned from the construction industry to pursue his passion for golf, was not only awarded his diploma but also named the 2024 Trainee of the Year. Josh’s journey to becoming a PGA Professional was unconventional but rewarding, and he encouraged others to follow their dreams and make a career change if needed.

Another remarkable graduate, Lucy Goddard, a former Ladies European Tour player, was honored as the 2024 Female PGA Trainee of the Year. Lucy expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to learn and grow through the PGA Training Programme, and she looks forward to inspiring others, especially women and girls, to pursue a career in golf.

The ceremony also saw the awarding of PGA Master Status to Jeffery John, David Scott, and Jonathan Wallett, recognizing their expertise and dedication to the golf industry.
