Local athletes from Kellogg High School and Wallace High School have recently made commitments to compete at the collegiate level, signing with various universities and colleges.

Maddie Cheney, a standout volleyball player from Kellogg High School, signed with Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. Cheney, a dominant six-foot lefty, excelled as an outside hitter and blocker for the Wildcats during her four years on the varsity team. She will be joining her sister Hailey on the Nighthawks.

Another Kellogg High School volleyball player, Zoe Brooks, signed with the College of the Siskiyous Eagles in Weed, California. Brooks, a versatile player capable of playing on both the front and back rows, will be competing in both indoor and beach volleyball for the Eagles.

On the wrestling front, Jaeger Hall from Kellogg High School committed to Missouri Baptist University in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Hall, a four-time state tournament qualifier and state champion, will officially sign with the Spartans on May 29.

From Wallace High School, Britany Phillips signed with Yakima Valley College in Yakima, Washington, to play basketball for the Yaks in the NWAC. Phillips, a top scorer in the state during her senior season, earned a 1A All-State selection.

Additionally, Tia Hendrick, the Scenic Idaho League’s co-MVP from Wallace High School, signed with Yakima Valley College to play volleyball. Hendrick’s skills at the net and from the serving line are expected to make her a formidable player at the collegiate level.

These talented athletes are poised to make a significant impact at the next level of competition, showcasing their skills and dedication to their respective sports.
