In a thrilling softball matchup, the Pierz Pioneers dominated the Pillager Huskies with an impressive 11-0 victory on Monday, April 15. Natalie Knutdon was the star of the game, going 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, and four RBIs. McKenna Hoheisel added to the offensive onslaught with a double, while Madelyn Gaffke sealed the deal with a powerful home run.

On the pitching front, Britney Schommer was outstanding, pitching six innings and securing the shutout with seven strikeouts. The Pillager Huskies put up a valiant effort, but Aidyn Schuett and Haleigh Awalt were only able to muster two hits against the dominant Pierz defense.

Meanwhile, in Pine River, the Tigers of Pine River-Backus showcased their offensive prowess in a 16-1 victory over McGregor. Kaitlyn Rilea led the charge with a stellar 3-for-4 performance, including a double, triple, and two RBIs. Naveah Middendorf and Ashley Shamp also contributed with two hits each, including a double.

Pitcher Aaliyah Lewis held down the fort, pitching three innings with three strikeouts to secure the win for the Tigers. With this impressive victory, Pine River-Backus improved to 2-6 overall and looks forward to their next matchup against Blackduck.
