Pillager’s Keefe Takes First Place in Area Girls Golf Tournament – Brainerd Dispatch

Pillager sophomore Kimberly Keefe showcased her golfing prowess by birdying the 379-yard par 5 18th hole to secure a first-place finish with a score of 89 in a Quad County Conference meet at Cragun’s Legacy Courses on Tuesday, April 30. Keefe’s stellar performance was a testament to her skill and determination on the course.

Adding to Pillager’s success, seventh-grade teammate Kaylie Glas also put up a commendable effort with a score of 135. The duo’s combined performance contributed to Pillager’s presence in the competition, despite the team finishing tied for fifth place along with Underwood in the team scores.

The overall team standings saw Alexandria Community Christian clinching the top spot with a score of 319, followed closely by Ashby/Brandon-Evansville and Ottertail Central in second and third place, respectively. Hillcrest Lutheran Academy and Pillager rounded out the top five in the team standings.

Looking ahead, Pillager is set to compete in the Quad County Conference meet at Pebble Lake Golf Course on Thursday, May 2, aiming to build on their recent success and continue their strong showing in the conference.

In a separate event, Pine River-Backus Tigers also made their mark in a Northern Pines Conference meet at Sandtrap Golf Course, with Lyric Aulie leading the team with a sixth-place finish and a score of 48. The team secured third place in the competition, showcasing their talent and determination on the course.
