Pioneering Sustainable Tourism at ATM Dubai 2024: ET HospitalityWorld Takes the Lead

Goa, India, is set to make a significant impact at the upcoming Arabian Travel Market (ATM) Dubai 2024, showcasing its commitment to sustainable tourism. With a theme of “Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship,” the Goa Tourism Pavilion at ATM Dubai will highlight sustainable initiatives under the Regenerative Tourism approach.

The pavilion will focus on pillars such as hinterland exploration, restoration of heritage sites, spiritual tourism, and more. Additionally, the exposition of St. Francis Xavier at the Basilica of Bom Jesus in Old Goa, scheduled to take place after a decade, will be a key highlight from November 21st, 2024, to January 5th, 2025.

Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Director Tourism & Managing Director GTDC, expressed excitement about Goa’s participation, stating that the pavilion will reflect the state’s rich cultural heritage. With approximately 17 co-exhibitors, including tour operators and wedding planners, the focus will be on promoting MICE tourism and launching a single window Wedding in Goa policy.

The Goa Pavilion at ATM Dubai aims to attract high-spending tourists from GCC countries and engage with the global Goan community to promote sustainable tourism. Visitors can expect an immersive experience highlighting Goa’s pioneering initiatives in sustainable tourism, with a focus on regenerative tourism.

The presence of key officials like Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Mr. Rohan A Khaunte, and industry representatives will further enhance the showcase of Goa’s cultural and spiritual treasures. Through interactive exhibits and engaging discussions, the pavilion will inspire travelers to make conscious choices that support responsible tourism and contribute to the well-being of the planet.
