The Lake Placid girls flag football team made history on Tuesday as they played their first-ever game at the North Elba Show Grounds. Despite a 19-7 loss to the Plattsburgh Hornets, the Blue Bombers showed determination and grit throughout the game.

The Hornets took an early lead, going up 7-0 at halftime and extending it to 13-0 in the second half. However, the Blue Bombers fought back with a spectacular play that will go down in the team’s history books. Quarterback Anisa Cecunjanin connected with Eliza Fitzsimmons for a 60-yard touchdown pass, marking the first-ever touchdown for the Lake Placid girls flag football team.

Fitzsimmons, a speedy freshman, expressed her excitement about the historic moment, while head coach Tammy Morgan praised her dedication and hard work during the break. The Blue Bombers continued to push forward, with senior back Nadia Philip scoring the one-point conversion to bring the score to 13-7.
