Plymouth Pilot Discovers Improved Health Through ‘Genuine Lifestyle Transformation’

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Chris Cape, a Plymouth resident and airline pilot, has transformed his life through dedication to fitness and nutrition. Cape, who flies for a major airline, faced the challenge of maintaining his health and passing mandatory health check-ups every six months. In 2019, he realized he needed to make a change in order to continue his career in the skies.

Seeking help from Nehemiah Owusu, a personal trainer and nutrition coach at the Plymouth Life Time, Cape embarked on a weight-loss journey that would ultimately change his life. Owusu and Cape worked together to develop a workout routine that fit into Cape’s busy schedule, focusing on mobility, balance, and basic movement patterns.

Over the course of 18 months, Cape lost over 30 pounds, decreased his body fat percentage by 12 percent, and successfully passed all his health check-ups with flying colors. The transformation was not just physical, but also a lifestyle change for Cape.

Cape credits his success to the consistency of his training sessions at Life Time and his commitment to his nutrition plan. He diligently tracks his calories every day using an app and has made exercise and healthy eating a priority in his life.

Despite the challenges of maintaining a healthy lifestyle as a pilot, Cape has found a way to stay in shape and feel better than ever at 46. He emphasizes the importance of finding ways to stay active and eat well, even on a tight budget or with limited time.

Owusu recommends incorporating high-protein foods into every meal as a key strategy for weight maintenance. This can include lean meats, poultry, fish, eggs, beans, and lentils. By making small, sustainable changes to his diet and exercise routine, Cape has been able to achieve lasting results.

Cape’s story serves as an inspiration to others who may be struggling to prioritize their health and fitness. With determination and the right support system, anyone can make positive changes to improve their well-being.

As Cape continues to soar through the skies as an airline pilot, he does so with a newfound sense of confidence and vitality. His journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and the transformative impact of prioritizing health and wellness.
