Pochettino, Chelsea manager, addresses speculation about his future at the club

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has put an end to speculation about his future with the club, affirming his commitment to staying with the team next season. After Chelsea’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest, Pochettino addressed the rumors that had been swirling around his position.

In a press conference following the match, Pochettino clarified his earlier comments, stating, “I had an honest conversation in (Friday’s) press conference. To clarify, if the owner is happy with my job we can continue. I am always a coach who is thinking long term. All departments must be happy for us to be a good team to compete. I still have one more year in my contract and I am thinking to be here.”

Chelsea’s comeback win against Nottingham Forest, with goals from Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson, has boosted their hopes of securing a European berth next season. The return of captain Reece James, who provided the assist for Jackson’s winning goal, after a five-month injury layoff was a positive development for the team.

Despite Chelsea’s current position in seventh place in the table, Pochettino remains optimistic about the team’s future, attributing their early-season struggles to their current standing. With an impressive unbeaten run in 12 of their last 13 league games, Chelsea’s recent form has been praised by chairman Todd Boehly as a sign that the club’s plan is “coming together” under Pochettino.

As the season draws to a close, Chelsea fans can look forward to seeing Pochettino at the helm for another campaign, with hopes of continued success on the horizon.
