Prasanna Vithanage’s Film ‘Paradise’ to Hit Theatres in India on June 28

Sri Lankan filmmaker Prasanna Vithanage’s latest movie “Paradise” is set to hit theatres in India and worldwide on June 28, promising audiences a gripping tale of love and conflict.

The film follows the story of an Indian tourist couple, portrayed by Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran, who travel to a crisis-ridden country to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary on a budget. However, their romantic getaway takes a dark turn as the country’s turmoil deepens, putting a strain on their relationship.

With a star-studded cast including Shyam Fernando and Mahendra Perera, “Paradise” is a multi-lingual film with dialogues in English, Malayalam, Tamil, Sinhala, and Hindi. The movie, produced by Newton Cinema and presented by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, had its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival in 2023, where it received the prestigious Kim Jiseok Award for Best Film.
