Elizabeth Hurley lost her role in the third ‘Austin Powers’ film due to her pregnancy, the 58-year-old actress/model revealed. Hurley, who played Vanessa Kensington in the first two movies, had to step away from the cast for ‘Austin Powers in Goldmember’ in 2002 because she was expecting her son Damian.
During an appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live’, Hurley explained that she informed the filmmakers about her pregnancy when she was offered the role. Despite their reassurances that she could still shoot the film, Hurley’s pregnancy progressed quickly, and she was unable to hide her baby bump.
As a result, Hurley missed out on the opportunity to act alongside Beyonce, who joined the cast as Foxxy Cleopatra. However, she expressed her admiration for Beyonce and her love for the ‘Austin Powers’ franchise.
When asked about the possibility of returning for another ‘Austin Powers’ movie, Hurley expressed her desire to work with Mike Myers again, calling him one of her favorite co-stars. She jokingly added that she might need different costumes this time around.
Despite missing out on the third film, Hurley’s fond memories of working on the franchise and her positive experience with the cast and crew leave the door open for a potential return in the future.
