Seton Hall University and Withum Renew CPA Pathway Apprenticeship Program for Second Cohort

As Seton Hall University wraps up the first year of its groundbreaking corporate partnership with Withum in the field of accounting, the success of the CPA Pathway Apprenticeship Program has led to the announcement of its renewal for a second cohort starting in Fall 2024.

The program, which offers aspiring accountants a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience while completing their final credits for CPA eligibility, has been a transformative experience for the first cohort of participants. With a focus on bridging the gap between classroom theory and professional practice, participants receive a full-time professional salary while studying to pass the CPA exam and gaining the necessary experience.

The strategic partnership with Withum has been a key factor in the program’s success, providing participants with access to industry experts, resources, and connections that go beyond traditional classroom settings. The hands-on experience gained through working on actual client projects with Withum professionals has been invaluable in preparing participants for the complexities of the accounting profession.

During the recent NJCPA meeting, panelists highlighted the importance of real-world experience in the program’s curriculum. Participants not only work closely with industry professionals but also receive feedback and guidance from Seton Hall accounting faculty, enhancing their technical skills and ability to apply theoretical knowledge in a professional context.

The program’s emphasis on networking and mentorship opportunities has also been a significant benefit for participants, allowing them to build connections within the industry and further their professional development.

Seton Hall and Withum’s CPA Pathway Apprenticeship Program represents a new model in accounting education, integrating academic rigor with practical experience. The announcement of the program’s renewal for a second cohort signifies the continued success and impact of this innovative partnership.
