President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. of Liberia has extended warm congratulations to the Republics of Togo and Sierra Leone on their Independence Anniversaries. Togo, which gained independence from France in 1960, celebrated its 64th anniversary, while Sierra Leone, which gained independence from Britain in 1961 after over 150 years of rule, marked its 63rd anniversary.
In his message to the President of Togo, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe, President Boakai expressed his best wishes and assured continued support for peace and security in the region. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the bonds of friendship between their two countries for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
Similarly, President Boakai congratulated the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, and prayed for the prosperity and wisdom of the country’s leadership. He hoped for the further strengthening of friendship between Liberia and Sierra Leone for the advancement of peace and economic development in the region.
President Boakai also sent his congratulations to South Africa on the occasion of their 30th Freedom Day anniversary, commemorating the end of apartheid and the establishment of a democratic dispensation. He expressed his heartfelt congratulations to President Cyril Ramaphosa and emphasized the importance of strengthening the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between Liberia and South Africa for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
As President Boakai continues to foster diplomatic relations with neighboring countries and beyond, the people of Liberia look forward to continued peace, prosperity, and cooperation in the region.
