The spring sports season is in full swing at Lake Region High School, with the softball, girls’ tennis, baseball, boys’ lacrosse, and girls’ lacrosse teams gearing up for their upcoming games. Each team has its own set of strengths, areas needing work, and goals for the season ahead.
The softball team, led by Head Coach Shawn Rock, is excited about the athleticism and speed of this year’s roster. With more kids playing on travel teams in the offseason, the team is looking to build a culture of winning and raise expectations for the program. Their first home game is against Freeport on April 24 at 4 p.m.
Girls’ tennis, coached by Jenny Dunn, is focusing on consistency and developing new players this season. With a mix of experienced seniors and brand-new players, the team is working on improving their basic skills and knowledge of the game. Their first home match is against York on April 23 at Camp Skylemar in Naples.
On the baseball diamond, Head Coach Andrew Stacy is excited about the youth and talent on his team.
