ProdPro Launches New Networking Tool to Help Film Workers Find Jobs

As the return to production in Los Angeles remains slow following Hollywood’s 2023 strikes, ProdPro, a production tracking service, has introduced a new tool to assist film workers in finding upcoming jobs and connecting with colleagues. The new service, ProdPro Network, offers a platform for crew members to access ProdPro’s research on film and television projects in preparation and development, allowing them to locate department heads working on those titles.

By inputting their work history and connecting with past colleagues on the platform, crew members can be matched with projects they have a professional connection to. Additionally, early-career users with limited resumes can follow hiring managers and track upcoming titles. IATSE Local 871, a crew union representing various roles, has partnered with ProdPro Network, offering its 3,500 members free access to the platform.

ProdPro Network aims to serve as an online employment marketplace for both applicants and companies, enabling productions and studios to scout and hire suitable crew members for their projects. The tool arrives amidst concerns about a potential crew member strike later this year, as current labor contracts for IATSE and Teamsters Local 399 are set to expire.

According to ProdPro co-founder and CEO Alex LoVerde, the platform’s proprietary database covers over 10,000 projects, providing valuable information to members. The tool is designed to address inefficiencies in the industry, ensuring crew members find the right jobs and productions hire the right crew. With plans to expand and improve the platform, ProdPro Network aims to enhance visibility and opportunities for film workers in the evolving production landscape.
