Spanish Tourism to be Promoted in Abu Dhabi During Marhaba 2024 Professional Marketing Days

In an effort to boost Spanish tourism, the Spanish Tourism Institute (Turespaña) will be hosting the Marhaba 2024 professional marketing days in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from May 2 to May 5. The event will bring together over 100 tour operators, travel agencies, and media from Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman.

The event, organized by Turespaña and featuring the agency’s Director-General, Miguel Sanz, aims to showcase more than 30 Spanish tourism industry destinations and companies, such as hotels, tourism management firms, and shopping centers. This marks the second edition of the direct meetings, with a focus on promoting Spain as a diverse and attractive destination.

Miguel Sanz, Director-General of Turespaña, highlighted the strategic importance of the Persian Gulf market for Spain, citing the region’s excellent connectivity and the profile of visitors who are family-oriented and seek unique experiences in Spain.

The event will feature over 1,200 scheduled meetings, a gala dinner with Spanish cuisine and wines, a flamenco show, and awards for tourism companies. Additionally, Miguel Sanz will participate in the Phocuswright WiT Middle East 2024 international conference in Dubai, discussing European tourism trends.

With the Gulf region’s increasing spending power and positive outlook for the summer tourism season, Spain is poised to attract more tourists from the Arab countries, further solidifying its position as a top travel destination in Europe.
