Promotion of arts education through cultural activities in Qingpu

Cultural activities in Qingpu District are taking center stage to promote arts education and provide a delightful experience for residents. The district recently hosted a classic opera vocal concert as part of the 2024 Shanghai Citizens Art Festival, featuring selections from renowned operas like “The Marriage of Figaro” and “The Magic Flute.” This event aimed to bring art closer to the community with an East-meets-West approach.

In addition to the opera concert, Qingpu District is also showcasing the revival of a lost Turkish art technique through the “Traveling Clouds, Drawing Paper – Turkish Ebru Art Exhibition” at the Qingpu Museum. This exhibition features exquisite ebru works by Turkish artists, offering a unique cultural experience for visitors.

Furthermore, the upcoming May Day holiday will see the enchanting melody of Jiangnan sizhu music filling the air at the Qing Post Office in Zhujiajiao Watertown. This traditional Chinese music, featuring instruments like the guqin, pipa, and dongxiao, will be performed during four concerts on May 2 and 3.

The sizhu concerts at the Qing Post Office will take place from 2 pm to 4:45 pm on May 2 and 3, with an admission fee of 25 yuan (US$3.45) per person.
