PSD June 4 Session on School Closures: New Location and Format

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Poudre School District has made a significant change to the format and location of its upcoming community feedback session on proposed school closures and boundary modifications. The session, originally planned for June 4 at Fort Collins High School, will now be held at Rocky Mountain High School in one-hour group discussions with members of the Board of Education.

The district announced the change in an email to families and staff, stating that the new format aims to “hear more voices and have a more collaborative process.” Participants are required to sign up in advance for the in-person or online sessions, all scheduled for June 4.

In-person sessions at Rocky Mountain High School will have a maximum of 20 participants per board member, with time slots at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m. Online sessions will also be one hour each, starting at 10 a.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m.

During the sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in conversations with board members and fellow participants. Any unanswered questions can be written on a notecard for follow-up. The Facilities Planning Steering Committee is set to present final options to the Board of Education on May 28, with a vote on the closure and consolidation plan scheduled for June 11.

This shift in format reflects the district’s commitment to inclusivity and collaboration in the decision-making process regarding school closures and boundary changes for the 2025-26 school year.
