QR-Based cleaning system made compulsory in hospitals across Rajasthan

The principal and controller of eight medical colleges in Rajasthan are in hot water as they have received show-cause notices from the State Government for failing to implement an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based QR Code cleanliness system in the hospitals affiliated with the medical colleges.

The State Government had made it mandatory for all hospitals attached to medical colleges to adopt the QR code-based cleaning system from April 1 to improve cleanliness in government hospitals. This system allows patients and their attendants to scan a QR code using their mobile phones to raise complaints about improper cleanliness in the hospital, which will then be resolved promptly by the hospital administration.

Despite clear instructions, many hospitals, including JLN Medical College Hospital Ajmer, Sardar Patel Medical College Bikaner, and others, have not implemented the system. This led to the issuance of show-cause notices to the principals of the concerned medical colleges, demanding an explanation within three days.

Additionally, several Jaipur-based hospitals, including those attached to SMS medical college, have also failed to implement the QR-based cleaning system. This has raised concerns about the cleanliness and implementation of health schemes in the hospitals.

On the brighter side, districts like Jodhpur, Pratapgarh, and Pali have been recognized for their excellent facilities and cleanliness in hospitals, while Jaipur lags behind in the rankings. The districts were evaluated based on their performance in implementing health schemes and maintaining cleanliness during thousands of inspections over three months.
