Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury has reason to celebrate as eight of their radiologic technology students recently graduated with flying colors. What makes this achievement even more impressive is that all eight students passed the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam on their first attempt, surpassing the national average of 84.4%.
The graduates were honored at an awards and recognition ceremony, marking the completion of their program and welcoming them into the profession. This year’s pinning ceremony was particularly special as it was the first in the program’s 43-year history.
Dr. Karie Solembrino, dean of health professions and a Wor-Wic radiologic technology program alumna, shared words of wisdom with the graduates, emphasizing the importance of advocating for patients and providing comfort alongside clinical expertise. Cynthia Ross, department head and assistant professor of radiologic technology, praised the students for their dedication to learning both in the classroom and in clinical settings.
The graduates, hailing from Salisbury, Bishopville, Marydel, and Parksley, Va., have already secured jobs in the field, ready to put their skills to use in saving lives, making diagnoses, and performing treatments. With nearly 1,500 hours of clinical experience under their belts, these new radiologic technologists are well-prepared to make a difference in the lives of their patients.
