Reading Time: < 1 minute

Rafael Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam champion, is facing uncertainty about his future in tennis after suffering a heavy defeat in the Italian Open. Despite his earliest exit in Rome since 2008, Nadal is ‘leaning towards’ playing at Roland Garros, where he is a record 14-time singles champion.

The Spaniard was defeated by seventh seed Hubert Hurkacz in the second round of the Italian Open, with Nadal admitting that he has doubts about his game. He expressed his disappointment, stating, “I felt more ready than what I showed… Too many doubts.”

Nadal, who openly confessed that this could be his final year in tennis, did not confirm whether he will participate in Roland Garros. However, he hinted at his likely participation, saying, “I am not ready, I am not playing well enough… but I will try to play it and give my best.”

The main draw of Roland Garros begins on Sunday 26th May, with Nadal set to make his 19th appearance at the tournament. Despite facing physical issues and being unseeded, Nadal is determined to give his all at what could potentially be his last Roland Garros tournament.

Fans are eagerly awaiting Nadal’s decision as he navigates through this challenging phase in his career. Will the legendary player make a comeback at Roland Garros and add another title to his illustrious career? Only time will tell.
