Raiders Continue Undefeated Streak in North Division of College Softball – Brainerd Dispatch

Emma Tautges led the Central Lakes College Raiders to a doubleheader sweep against Rainy River with her exceptional performance on Wednesday, April 24. In Game One, Tautges pitched a stellar game, striking out three batters in seven innings and allowing only one earned run on seven hits. She also reached a milestone by collecting her 100th career strikeout. Tautges didn’t stop there, as she also contributed offensively by driving in three runs to secure the victory.

In Game Two, Tautges continued to shine, finishing 1-3 with two RBIs and three runs. Her teammates also stepped up, with Isabelle Pennertz driving in two runs and Kaitlyn Geschwill going 2-3 with two runs. Geschwill took the mound in Game Two and pitched a solid game, striking out six batters over five innings and allowing just one unearned run on five hits.

The Raiders’ offense was firing on all cylinders, with Morgan Majerus going 2-3 with a double, two RBIs, and a run, and Emma Simon doubling and finishing 2-3 with two RBIs and a run. The team’s dominant performance resulted in a 5-4, 9-1 sweep of Rainy River.

With this impressive win, Central Lakes College improved their division record to 13-0 and their overall record to 22-12. The Raiders will look to continue their winning streak when they host Vermilion on Thursday, April 25 at 4:30 p.m.
