Rainbows For All Children-Guam Celebrates End of Year Wrap-Up Session with “Celebrate Me Day”
For 37 years, Rainbows For All Children-Guam has been a beacon of hope for 25,500 grieving children, youth, and adults on the island. This 501 C-3 non-profit organization offers training and curricula for establishing peer support groups for individuals who are experiencing the pain of death, divorce, incarceration, military deployment, abandonment, and other challenging life transitions within families.
When a significant change occurs in a family, such as a death or divorce, it impacts all members profoundly. Grieving is a natural process that arises from emotional loss, and if not addressed in a timely manner, it can lead to chronic issues. Rainbows was founded to provide children, adolescents, and adults with a safe space to heal after experiencing a painful loss. Trained and compassionate volunteers lead support groups to help participants understand their new family dynamics, build self-esteem, and navigate the changes in their lives.
Rainbows For All Children-Guam offers 14 to 18 weekly sessions each year to guide youth through the process of loss. Through activities, personal journals, and the support of certified Rainbow Facilitators, children learn to trust again, gain self-confidence, and accept their current life circumstances with pride and dignity.
Today, Rainbows for All Children-Guam is celebrating their End of the Year Wrap-Up Session with a special event called “Celebrate Me Day.” This event marks the conclusion of the support group sessions for the 2023-2024 school year program. Children, parents, guardians, Rainbow coordinators, and facilitators will come together for interactive activities that were covered throughout the year.
The event will feature healing activities for children and parents, covering topics such as communication, feelings, suicide prevention, and forgiveness. The day will include lessons and activities at the Pacific Islands Club banquet rooms, lunch at the Skylight Buffet, and family fun at the Water Park. This event is open to Rainbows for All Children-Guam families, children, and Rainbow Facilitator volunteers.
Rainbows For All Children-Guam operates on the spirit of volunteerism and provides a free resource for children navigating life’s challenges. The organization offers all materials, supplies, peer support group sessions, and related events essential for the healing process. Without local or federal funding, Rainbows relies on the generous donations of sponsors and benefactors who have supported them for 37 years.
As Rainbows For All Children-Guam commemorates their End of the Year Wrap-Up Session with “Celebrate Me Day,” they express their gratitude to all supporters who have stood by them throughout the years. This event serves as a testament to the impact of their work in helping grieving individuals find healing and hope in the midst of loss.
