Montreal Alouettes Receivers Compete for Roster Spots

ST-JÉRÔME — The Montreal Alouettes are gearing up for the upcoming CFL season, and the competition is fierce among the receivers vying for a spot on the roster. With the defending Grey Cup champions already set at most positions, newcomers Charleston Rambo and Ramaud Chiaokhiao-Bowman face an uphill battle to crack the 45-man roster.

Rambo, who caught four passes for 71 yards in the team’s recent exhibition game against Toronto, expressed his determination to do whatever it takes to make the team. The 24-year-old import from Texas brings impressive credentials from his collegiate career at Oklahoma and Miami, where he showcased his playmaking abilities.

Chiaokhiao-Bowman, a 26-year-old receiver with experience in the NFL and indoor football, also made a strong impression in the game against the Argonauts, catching six passes for 54 yards. Both players have shown promise in training camp, but they will need to continue to perform at a high level to secure a spot on the roster.

Head coach Jason Maas emphasized the importance of consistency and effort in earning a spot on the team, noting that competition is tough among the talented group of receivers. With veterans like Tyler Snead and Cole Spieker leading the way, Rambo and Chiaokhiao-Bowman will need to make the most of every opportunity to showcase their skills.

As the Alouettes prepare for their next preseason game against Ottawa, all eyes will be on Rambo and Chiaokhiao-Bowman as they look to solidify their positions on the team. With the final roster decisions looming, the pressure is on for these young receivers to prove they have what it takes to compete at the professional level.

Stay tuned for more updates as the Alouettes continue their training camp and prepare for the upcoming CFL season.
