Ramona Unified trustees move forward with plans for Career Technical Education expansion

Ramona Unified School District is making strides towards expanding its Career Technical Education (CTE) program, with trustees taking significant steps to move the initiative forward. At a recent school board meeting, three key items were discussed in relation to CTE, a program designed to provide students with hands-on training in various fields such as culinary arts, information technology, construction, and agriculture.

The meeting began with a report from Hanover Research on its “CTE Needs and Interests Survey,” which gathered feedback from 563 respondents, including students, parents, staff, and community members. The survey aimed to assess the community’s awareness and understanding of the CTE program, as well as their interests and needs.

Following the survey report, trustees approved a $100,000 contract with Dale Scott & Co., a financial advisory firm, to conduct a survey of registered voters in the district. The survey will assess the need for funding specific projects, including a potential new CTE building and shared swimming pool.

Additionally, the board unanimously approved hiring CL Consulting, Inc. to pursue state funding for construction and modernization projects related to CTE and transitional Kindergarten facilities. The firm will work to secure maximum state grant funding for qualified school facilities projects.
