Rampage Jackson Thinks Stipe Miocic Could Defeat Jon Jones Due to Potential Weakness in Chin

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has weighed in on the upcoming fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic, expressing his belief that Jones may be in for a tough battle.

Jones was originally set to defend his UFC heavyweight title against Miocic last fall, but had to pull out due to a pectoral muscle injury. Despite criticism over his decision to face Miocic, who has not fought in three years, Jones remains determined to make the fight happen.

In a recent appearance on the JAXXON podcast, Jackson shared his thoughts on the matchup, telling Miocic, “I think you will be the first one to beat him.” Jackson pointed out that Miocic’s height and reach could pose a challenge for Jones, who relies on keeping his opponents at a distance with his unique fighting style.

Miocic, for his part, expressed confidence in his ability to defeat Jones, emphasizing the importance of not letting Jones dictate the pace of the fight. Reflecting on his own loss to Jones in 2011, Jackson admitted that he made mistakes in that fight and underestimated his opponent.

While an official date for the Jones-Miocic bout has yet to be announced, Miocic has indicated that he is nearing a return to the octagon and has a verbal agreement in place for the highly anticipated showdown later this year. As the MMA world eagerly awaits this clash of titans, all eyes will be on whether Miocic can pull off the upset and hand Jones his first heavyweight defeat.
