Round Hill Music LP has announced that producer and former American Idol judge Randy Jackson and management executive John Greenberg have joined the company as advisors. This move is expected to help Round Hill connect with a broader community of artists and enhance its ability to secure premium music rights investment deals.
Founded by Josh Gruss in 2010, Round Hill Music is a privately held fund managing a portfolio of song rights worth around $900 million. Last September, Concord acquired Round Hill’s publicly traded business, Round Hill Music Royalty Fund, in a deal valued at $469 million.
Gruss expressed excitement about the partnership with Jackson and Greenberg, stating that it will create new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with artists and songwriters. He emphasized the company’s ambition to grow its exposure to high-quality, iconic music and continue supporting the creator community.
Jackson, a longtime musician and former A&R rep at Columbia Records and MCA Records, brings a wealth of experience to Round Hill. He has collaborated with music legends like Smokey Robinson, Whitney Houston, and Aretha Franklin, earning over 1,000 gold and platinum plaques with more than 200 million albums sold worldwide.
Greenberg, COO/founder of management company Shorebreak International, has worked with a diverse range of artists since 1988, including Steven Tyler, Duran Duran’s John Taylor, and Nickelback.
The addition of Jackson and Greenberg to Round Hill Music LP is expected to bring valuable expertise and industry connections to the company, further solidifying its position in the music rights investment landscape.
