Veteran actor Ranjeet has recently made a shocking revelation about the 1981 film ‘Silsila’. In an interview with ANI, he disclosed that the original choice for the female lead in the movie was Parveen Babi, but she was later replaced by Jaya Bachchan.
Ranjeet shared that Parveen Babi was deeply upset when she was replaced in the film. He described her as a beautiful lady who was always smiling. The actor reminisced about a time when Parveen Babi was in tears after being asked to leave the project. Ranjeet revealed that the original cast was supposed to include Parveen Babi and Rekha, but due to a controversy, Jaya Bachchan was brought in to replace Babi.
The actor also spoke about his friendship with the late Sanjeev Kumar, highlighting their close bond. Ranjeet mentioned that Kumar was a humble person who did not believe in overspending, despite facing personal tragedies in his life.
Reflecting on the loss of iconic actors in the industry, Ranjeet expressed his sorrow over the passing of legends like Shashi Kapoor, Dutt sahib, Raaj Kumar, and Rajesh Khanna. He emphasized the camaraderie among actors during his time in the industry, where they would often work together on multiple projects.
