The Big Ten conference, known for its excellence in both athletics and academics, is expanding its roster with the addition of four prestigious schools: USC, UCLA, Washington, and Oregon. While these schools are often associated with their sports programs, they also boast top-tier academic institutions.

According to the U.S. News World & Report rankings for 2024, the Big Ten conference stands out for its academic prowess, with only one of its 18 member schools falling outside the top 100. Each school in the conference has its own unique strengths and characteristics, making them valuable additions to the Big Ten family.

For example, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with a U.S. News rank of 159, has a total enrollment of 19,189 students and an acceptance rate of 79%. On the other hand, the University of Oregon, ranked 98, has a slightly larger enrollment of 19,565 students and an acceptance rate of 86%.
