Rankings of Upstate SC High Schools by US News & World Report

Six Greenville County high schools have made it to the top 25 best South Carolina high schools list, according to U.S. News & World Report’s “2024-2025 Best Public High Schools in South Carolina” rankings. The rankings were based on factors such as college readiness, state assessment proficiency, and underserved student performance.

Among the Greenville County high schools that made the list are:
– Wade Hampton High School at No. 10
– Greenville Senior High School Academy at No. 13
– North Riverside High School at No. 19
– Eastside High School at No. 20
– Mauldin High School at No. 21
– J.L. Mann High School at No. 23

Fountain Inn High School, which opened in 2021, was the only Greenville County high school not included in the rankings.

The rankings were determined by collecting data from nearly 25,000 high schools across the country and focusing on key areas such as college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth, and graduation rate.

Other Upstate high schools that made the list include T.L. Hanna High School, Powdersville High School, Pendleton High School, Spartanburg High School, Greenville Technical Charter High School, High Point Academy, Legacy Early College, Anderson Five Charter School, Berea High School, Broome High School, Westside High An Early College Academy, Southside High School, Carolina Academy High School, and Cyber Academy of South Carolina.

Overall, the top 10 high schools in South Carolina, as ranked by U.S. News & World Report, include Academic Magnet High School, Aiken Scholars Academy, Charleston School of the Arts, Palmetto Scholars Academy, Spring Hill High School, Wando High School, Fort Mill High School, Mayo High for Math Science and Technology, Chapin High School, and Wade Hampton High School in Greenville.
