Loaves of bread in Japan have been recalled from shelves after the shocking discovery of a rat’s remains inside the product. The production of the bread in Tokyo has been halted following reports from at least two individuals who found parts of a “small black rat” in the bread.

Pasco Shikishima Corp, the company responsible for producing the contaminated bread, has issued an apology and promised compensation to affected customers. A total of 104,000 packages of the bread have been recalled as a precautionary measure.

Fortunately, no customers have reported falling ill after consuming the contaminated bread. However, the company expressed deep regret for the inconvenience caused to customers, suppliers, and other concerned parties. They have vowed to strengthen their quality controls to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

The bread had been distributed in various regions across Japan, including Ibaraki, Niigata, Kanagawa, Fukushima, Aomori, and Tokyo. This incident has raised concerns about food safety standards in the country, which is known for its strict regulations.
