Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been hit with a major setback ahead of the IPL 2024 playoffs as key players from both teams have left to join the England squad for national duty. Will Jacks and Reece Topley have bid farewell to RCB, while Jos Buttler has departed from RR.

Jacks, who was in sensational form for RCB, scored 230 runs in 8 matches at a strike rate of 175.57 and also picked up two wickets. Topley, on the other hand, played 4 matches and took as many wickets for the franchise. Both players left the RCB squad to prepare for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan, which will serve as a warm-up for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Meanwhile, Buttler, who was a key player for RR, scored 359 runs in 11 matches at an average close to 40 and a strike rate of over 140, including two centuries. His departure will be a big blow for RR as they aim to secure a spot in the playoffs.

Other England players set to depart for national duty include Moeen Ali from Chennai Super Kings, Philip Salt from Kolkata Knight Riders, and Sam Curran and Jonny Bairstow from Punjab Kings.

The departure of these key players will certainly impact the remaining matches of the IPL 2024 season, as teams will have to adjust their strategies and line-ups without their star performers. Fans will be eagerly watching to see how RCB and RR cope with the absence of Jacks, Topley, and Buttler in the crucial stages of the tournament.
