RCB’s Cameron Green Reveals Battle with Chronic Kidney Disease and Strict Diet Plan in IPL 2024

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Cameron Green, the young all-rounder for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), is not just battling it out on the cricket field but also against chronic kidney disease. The 24-year-old cricketer has been managing his kidney problem while playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Green, who revealed his condition last December, is currently following a strict diet regimen to keep his health in check. Despite the challenges he faces, he continues to deliver his best for RCB. In a recent virtual interaction, Green shared his struggles, especially in a country like India where food options can be limited.

The talented cricketer also took the initiative to raise awareness about chronic kidney disease by visiting the Bangalore Kidney Foundation. He emphasized the importance of managing his salt and protein intake, especially during cricket matches.

Chronic kidney disease is a progressive condition that affects the kidneys’ ability to filter waste products and excess fluids from the blood. It can result from various underlying conditions and risk factors, including diabetes, hypertension, and lifestyle factors like smoking and poor diet.

Symptoms of CKD may include fatigue, swelling, changes in urination, and nausea. Early detection and management are crucial to slow progression and prevent complications like kidney failure. Despite his health challenges, Cameron Green continues to inspire with his determination and resilience on the cricket field.
