Regina’s New LED Volume at John Hopkins Soundstage Revolutionizes Filmmaking

A new action-thriller film titled “Hostile Takeover” is set to make waves in the film industry as it will be entirely filmed using Regina’s new LED Volume at the John Hopkins Soundstage. This cutting-edge technology allows the cast and crew to film in various locations around the world, or even across the universe, all within the confines of the soundstage.

Projects like “The Mandalorian” and “The Batman” have already utilized the LED wall for their productions, showcasing the versatility and immersive capabilities of this innovative tool. Karma Film CEO and producer of “Hostile Takeover,” Anand Ramayya, expressed his excitement about the possibilities this technology offers for filmmakers.

According to Ramayya, “The LED Volume Wall revolutionizes our ability to tell stories. It is a game-changer for filmmakers, allowing us to create immersive worlds without leaving the studio.” He emphasized that this technology represents the future of filmmaking and provides filmmakers with a whole new toolkit to bring their creative visions to life.

The film features American actor and martial artist Michael Jai White, known for his roles in “Black Dynamite” and “The Dark Knight,” as well as Saskatoon-raised actress Aimee Stolte. Stunt direction for the film is being handled by Markos Rounthwaite, who has worked on blockbuster films like “The Bourne Ultimatum” and “Casino Royale.”

Parks, Culture, and Sport Minister Laura Ross praised the use of the LED Volume Wall in Saskatchewan, highlighting how it brings the essence of New York City to the province. She emphasized the technological advancements in the film industry and the opportunities it presents for Saskatchewan to shine on a global stage.

With the first day of filming underway, the production of “Hostile Takeover” is already generating buzz within the industry. The film promises to showcase the capabilities of the LED Wall in creating visually stunning and immersive cinematic experiences for audiences.
