Report: Four civilians killed in southern Lebanon by Israeli airstrike

An Israeli airstrike in the town of Mays al Jabal in south Lebanon has resulted in the death of four civilians and the injury of several others, as reported by Lebanese state media and the town’s municipality. The strike occurred while residents were inspecting their homes and shops that had been previously damaged in attacks.

The Israeli military stated that the target of the airstrike was military infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah, with whom they have been engaged in clashes since October 8. Hezbollah, in response, claimed to have conducted at least 10 attacks on Israeli military positions near the Lebanon-Israel border.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has escalated tensions in the region, with both sides exchanging fire and launching attacks. Western diplomats have attempted to broker a de-escalation, but so far, their efforts have been unsuccessful.

Hezbollah has insisted that it will cease rocket attacks on northern Israel once a ceasefire is reached to end the conflict in Gaza. However, Israel has warned that it is prepared to launch a war against Hezbollah if the fighting continues.

The Israeli military has also targeted Hezbollah military infrastructure in other parts of southern Lebanon. The violence has taken a toll on both sides, with over 350 people killed in Lebanon, including fighters and civilians, and casualties reported in Israel as well.
