Report: Kansas Man Allegedly Murders Wife, Buys Sex Doll with Life Insurance Payout

A shocking and disturbing case has come to light in Kansas, where a man murdered his wife and used her life insurance payout to buy a life-size sex doll. Colby Trickle called 911 in 2019 to report that his wife, Kristen Trickle, had shot herself in their home in Hays, Kansas. However, suspicions arose when Sergeant Brandon Hauptman from the Hays Police Department began to investigate.

Despite the initial ruling of suicide by the coroner, Dr Lyle Noordhoek, the investigating officers continued to work on the case. It was later revealed that Mr Trickle cashed in on two life insurance policies for his wife, totaling over $120,000. Shockingly, just two days after receiving the insurance payout, he spent nearly $2,000 on a life-size sex doll.

The news of Mr Trickle’s purchase left Kristen Trickle’s family and the community appalled. Her aunt, Delynn Rice, expressed her disbelief that he would use her niece’s life insurance money in such a manner. Assistant Ellis County Attorney Aaron Cunnigham revealed that Mr Trickle spent all $120,000 of the insurance money in just eight months on various purchases, including the sex doll, video games, and music equipment.

After years of investigation and legal proceedings, Mr Trickle was finally charged with murder in the first degree and interfering with law enforcement. During his trial, prosecutors highlighted his purchase of the sex doll as evidence of his disturbing behavior. Ultimately, in November 2023, a jury found him guilty of murder, and he was sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 50 years. The tragic case serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences of domestic violence and abuse.
