The Kremlin is now said to be working on a succession plan to ensure stability in the region as Kadyrov’s health deteriorates. Known for his strongman tactics, Kadyrov’s forces have been actively involved in the conflict in Ukraine, fighting alongside Russian troops.

Last year, rumors circulated on social media about Kadyrov’s health, specifically regarding kidney problems. In response, Kadyrov appeared in videos to dispel the speculations.
