The Toronto Raptors are making big moves this offseason as they continue their rebuild. After trading away key players like Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, and Dennis Schroder midseason, the Raptors are reportedly planning to trade Bruce Brown this summer.
Brown, who came to Toronto in the Siakam trade, is known for his defensive skills and ability to handle the ball. He could be a valuable asset for a team looking to make a championship run, as he averaged 10.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game this season.
At 27 years old, Brown still has room for growth, especially in his 3-point shooting. While he struggled this season, shooting just 32.3 percent from beyond the arc, he was a 40.4 percent shooter just two seasons ago.
The Raptors are also putting their hopes on forward Scottie Barnes, who had an impressive season averaging 19.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game. The Anunoby trade brought in prospects RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, adding more depth to their roster.
With these moves, the Raptors are looking to build a competitive team for the future, despite being just five years removed from their championship win. It will be interesting to see how these changes shape the team’s trajectory in the coming seasons.
