Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey, known for his stellar performances in films like “12th Fail,” is all set to take on a challenging new role in the upcoming film “Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan.” Directed by debutant filmmaker Niranjan Iyengar, the movie is an adaptation of renowned author Ruskin Bond’s short story “The Eyes Have It.”
In a departure from his usual roles, Massey will be portraying a blind musician in the film, exploring themes of love and self-discovery. The story is said to revolve around themes of compassion, willpower, independence, desire, perception, memory, and confidence.
Niranjan Iyengar, a well-known Bollywood dialogue writer, is making his directorial debut with this project. He has also adapted Ruskin Bond’s gripping tale into a screenplay, promising an emotional and thought-provoking cinematic experience.
Filming for “Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan” is scheduled to begin in August 2024, with primary shooting locations in Uttarakhand and Georgia. Massey will be joining the project after wrapping up his role in Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming web series, where he plays a cybercrime expert. Additionally, the actor has other exciting projects in the pipeline, including “Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba” alongside Taapsee Pannu and Aditya Nimbalkar’s “Sector 36.”
Fans of Vikrant Massey can also look forward to his upcoming film “The Sabarmati Report,” set to release on May 3, 2024. In the film, Massey plays a vernacular journalist named Samar Kumar, who teams up with fellow reporters to uncover a compelling story.
