Reportedly, Hawks Will Shop Key Veteran During Offseason

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Atlanta Hawks are gearing up for a busy offseason as they look to make some significant changes to their roster after a disappointing 2023-24 NBA season. The team is facing tough decisions regarding the future of their backcourt stars, Trae Young and Dejounte Murray.

It has become clear that Young and Murray may not be able to coexist on the Hawks roster, leading to speculation that one of them could be on the move this summer. While Murray is also a valuable trade asset, all eyes seem to be on Young as the potential star player to be traded, with many teams interested in acquiring his services.

In addition to Young and Murray, another player who could be on the move is De’Andre Hunter. The Hawks are reportedly shopping Hunter on the trade market, with rival teams showing interest in the young forward. Despite not being as high-profile as Young or Murray, Hunter still has value and could attract attention from other teams.

During the 2023-24 season, Hunter had a career-high average of 15.6 points per game, along with 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists. His shooting percentages were also impressive, with 45.9% from the field and 38.5% from beyond the arc.

As the Hawks look to shake up their roster and make moves this offseason, the future of Young, Murray, and Hunter remains uncertain. Fans will be eagerly watching to see how the team navigates the upcoming changes and positions themselves for success in the future.
