A heroic police officer in Sydney, Australia, saved countless lives by fatally shooting a knife-wielding maniac who went on a stabbing spree inside a popular mall. The incident, which took place at Westfield Bondi Junction, resulted in the death of five people and left several others injured, including a small child.
Authorities were alerted to the attack around 3:30 p.m. local time, with witnesses reporting a man wielding a long knife and attacking shoppers inside the mall. Terrifying footage captured by 9News Sydney showed the suspect approaching horrified shoppers as they ran for the exits.
The suspect, wearing a gold and green rugby jersey, moved through the mall and launched his attack on a group of people, causing harm by stabbing them.
