RFK Jr’s campaign dismisses claims that parasite affecting his brain has lasting impact on his health

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has revealed a shocking health scare that he faced in the past, involving a parasite that ate part of his brain. Despite this alarming revelation, Kennedy insists that it will not affect his fitness to be president.

Kennedy’s ordeal began when he experienced memory loss, leading to a brain scan in 2012 that showed a dark spot on his brain, initially believed to be a tumor. However, further examination revealed that a parasite had entered his brain and died after consuming a portion of it.

The parasite was identified as likely being a pork tapeworm larva, which experts believe Kennedy may have contracted during a trip to South Asia. In addition to the parasite, Kennedy was also diagnosed with mercury poisoning, attributed to his love for tuna fish sandwiches.

Despite these health challenges, Kennedy claims to have made a full recovery from both the parasite and mercury poisoning. His campaign spokeswoman, Stefanie Spear, dismissed any concerns about his health impacting his presidential candidacy, emphasizing his robust physical and mental well-being.

Kennedy, 70, has positioned himself as a youthful and athletic alternative to his older competitors, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. However, his health history also includes past diagnoses of hepatitis C, spasmodic dysphonia affecting his voice, and a heart condition that required hospitalization and a defibrillator.

Despite these health setbacks, Kennedy remains determined to pursue his presidential ambitions, emphasizing his resilience and commitment to serving the country.
