In an interview with Sky News, Branson criticized businesses that continue to profit from their operations in Russia, stating that they are essentially supporting Putin’s war machine.

The billionaire entrepreneur joined other business leaders in signing an open letter at the beginning of the invasion, declaring that they would only consider resuming business activities in Russia once hostile operations ceased. Branson also called on European governments to provide further financial and military aid to support Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression.

Highlighting the importance of the private sector in rebuilding Ukraine, Branson emphasized the need for a collective commitment across all sectors to help restore the country’s infrastructure and economy. As an ambassador for UNITED24, a charity established by President Zelenskyy to aid in the reconstruction of Ukraine, Branson underscored the role of business in the country’s future development.

In a unique fundraising effort, the charity introduced Branson as a playable character in the popular video game Minecraft, with French developers creating a game within the platform called Minesalt. Despite selling his video games division in the ’90s, Branson expressed excitement about exploring Minesalt with his grandchildren and hinted at the possibility of re-entering the gaming market in the future.
