The Dalles High Riverhawks Continue Dominant Softball Streak

The defending OSAA Class 4A softball state champion The Dalles High Riverhawks are on fire this season, extending their win streak to nine games after recording three Tri Valley Conference shutouts last week. The team remains unbeaten in the standings with a perfect 6-0 record.

In their three recent games, the Riverhawks showcased their dominance by outscoring their opponents by a combined margin of 45-0. The Dalles, with an overall record of 10-1, started the week with a 10-0 home victory over Gladstone on April 15. They followed it up with a 17-0 win over Molalla at home on April 17 and an 18-0 victory at Molalla on April 18.

Coach Lindy Macnab praised the team’s performance, noting that the players’ bats are starting to heat up. Despite the impressive scores, Macnab believes there is still room for improvement offensively.

Key players in the recent games included sophomore pitcher Siyra Faulkner, who pitched a no-hitter against Gladstone and contributed offensively with two RBIs. Junior Sydney Newby and senior Keiliani Crichton-Tunai also made significant contributions with their hitting.

The Riverhawks are set to face tough competition in upcoming games against Crook County, who are tied with them atop the Tri-Valley standings. Coach Macnab is looking forward to the challenge, praising Crook County as a competitive and well-coached team that always pushes The Dalles to perform at their best.
